Abstract

In recent years, the development of smart cameras and their capabilities has accelerated, leading to their potential deployment in a wide range of applications. For example, they can be used to assess a driver’s level of attention or fatigue. Features relevant for evaluating such cognitive states include head and eye tracking, as well as body posture analysis. Open-source frameworks such as MediaPipe Holistic already demonstrate the technical feasibility of extracting these features. However, despite these advances, robust and well-integrated solutions are rarely used in practice.

This thesis, therefore, aims to conduct a systematic literature review to identify the state-of-the-art in combining different human monitoring features in a webcam system. Based on these insights, the thesis will then implement a prototype system that integrates at least two of these features.
