Abstract

We have developed a framework for intercorporate information models. Information models build the basis for information systems as well as for the design of organisational process in enterprises. Because of several business partners being involved it is difficult to assure the consistency of the information models in terms of syntactical and semantical correctness. In this paper, we present "Guidelines of Modeling (GoM)" that contain conventions to improve the correctness, consistency, and comparability of information models. We focus on the integration of processes between producers and retailers. The integration of information systems between producers and retailers requires frameworks of the information systems on each side. Out of these, we present the H-model as an architecture for retail information systems and show some of the integration potential between the retail information system and the IS of the producer.
