IS:link is proud to announce two wonderful opportunities for our students to experience a different culture in a summer school. This year, students are eligible to participate in the Summer School on Big Data in a Business Environment organized by the Wroclaw University of Economics in Poland, and the St. Petersburg Summer University (SUSTP) in Russia. The summer school in Wroclaw takes place from August 31 to September 11, 2015 and covers topics about Big Data in Business Environments, like the data analytics lifecycle, social media sentiment mining, and predictive analytics with R and Big Data. There are many more courses offered in different semesters that students may find interesting, allowing everyone to experience a wonderful and informative time in Wroclaw. The participants will have a written exam at the end of the summer school, earning them 6 ECTS (please clarify the crediting options with your local institution). The fee amounts to just EUR 515, which includes accommodation, meals, social events, and a two-day trip to Krakow. Please note that the registration deadline ends on July 31 2015. Additionally, IS:link students have the opportunity to visit the “St. Petersburg Summer University” (SUSTP), offered by the State University for Telecommunication St. Petersburg, Russia for the first time. This school takes place from July 20 until August 2, 2015 and offers courses on MATLAB programming for engineers and scientists, state-of-the-art WLAN design, monitoring, and troubleshooting principles, as well as Computer Music and Sound Design. The participating students will receive a certificate from the Summer School University of St. Petersburg, a certificate from the State University for Telecommunication St. Petersburg and 3 ECTS. The fee amounts to EUR1,000, which includes accommodation, meals, school, and excursions.
