Strategic Planning of Information Systems with Campana & Schott
On Tuesday, 8 July 2025, our Master’s module Strategic Planning of Information Systems reached its grand finale: our student teams took the stage at the Chair of Information Systems & Strategic IT Management to pitch their semester-long projects. In concise slots, the teams outlined forward-thinking IT strategies for real-world business scenarios before defending their proposals in lively Q&A sessions.
We were especially pleased to welcome industry experts Sebastian Obermeier and Niklas Schürmann from international consultancy Campana & Schott. Their candid feedback on project governance, change management, and value tracking gave students a clear view of how strategic IT planning succeeds when it builds early bridges between business goals, technology, and people.
The spirited discussion underscored how academic research and enterprise practice enrich one another: students sharpened their method-driven insights against authentic use cases, while our guests gained fresh perspectives on emerging technology trends and creative solution approaches. Such collaborative formats are a cornerstone of our mission to equip tomorrow’s digital leaders for the complex challenges of transformation.
A heartfelt thank-you to our students for their dedication and to Campana & Schott for their steadfast partnership. We look forward to deepening these practice-oriented collaborations in future semesters—and to continuing to strengthen the dialogue between academia and industry.
