Research Paper on IS/IT Innovation Management to be presented at ECIS 2016

We are proud to announce that our colleague David Hoffmann is currently participating in the 24th European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS) in Istanbul. The ECIS is an annual conference for Information Systems and Information Technology academics and professionals and is affiliated with the Association for Information Systems. This year, the Department of Management Information Systems of the Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey is hosting the conference. The conference focus is on “Information Systems as a Global Gateway” and stresses the importance of information systems as electronic environments connecting people, organizations, countries, and societies, just like Istanbul, as an urban hub between Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, does. David Hoffmann will present a paper he published together with Dennis Böhl and Prof. Dr. Frederik Ahlemann on the topic of “Structural Anchoring of IS/IT Innovation Management: Toward an Organizational Design Theory”. Böhl, Hoffmann, and Ahlemann aim to develop a design theory for institutionalizing IS/IT innovation management. They conducted an exploratory interview study, comprising ten expert interviews. In the course of the study, they identified eight meta-requirements for a successful institutionalization, present six design variants, and formulate propositions about the implications of each variant for the fulfillment of the meta-requirements. They thus contributed to the nascent body of knowledge on IS/IT innovation management and help practitioners find the right variant for its institutionalization.
