Paper Nominated for Vint Cerf Best Student Paper Award at DESRIST 2025

We are pleased to share that the research paper titled “From Stress to Success: Designing a Diagnosis and Intervention Platform for Knowledge Workers”, co-authored by Falco Korn, Erik Karger, Frederik Ahlemann, and Alexandar Schkolski, has been nominated for the Vint Cerf Best Student Paper Award at the upcoming DESRIST 2025 conference.

The paper addresses the increasing prevalence of mental health challenges among knowledge workers, who often face high cognitive demands and dynamic work conditions. Through a Design Science Research (DSR) approach, the team developed and evaluated an architecture for a multimodal platform that supports both diagnosis and intervention. The platform aims to facilitate early detection of workplace stress and deliver targeted support based on contextual insights.

The research builds on a mixed-methods foundation, including a literature review, semi-structured interviews with 12 professionals, and a survey with 32 knowledge workers. Design principles derived from these methods informed the creation of a process-oriented system architecture, which was further refined through expert feedback.

The Vint Cerf Best Student Paper Award, named after internet pioneer Vinton G. Cerf, honors outstanding work that exemplifies rigor, innovation, and relevance. We are honored by the nomination and look forward to presenting the paper and engaging in discussion at DESRIST 2025.

Again, we would like to thank all interviewees, survey participants, and reviewers who supported this work.
